Plan Your Visit: Things to do in Lake George

One of the best parts about the Adirondack Wine & Food Festival is that it’s in the heart of Lake George and surrounded by so many other fun things to do! We highly recommend you make the most of your trip to the festival and plan to stay a few extra days so that you can enjoy all that the area has to offer! We’ve rounded up just a few of our top picks for things to do in Lake George.

Enjoy a Wine Tasting

It’s no secret we’re all about wine over here at the festival, so of course, we don’t think any trip to Lake George is complete without stopping by our Presenting Sponsor, Adirondack Winery, for a wine tasting! Adirondack Winery has a Tasting Room in Lake George right down the street from the festival grounds where you can sample over 35 fruit-infused and varietal wines. To make things even better, the winery is opening a brand-new Tasting Room in Queensbury just in time for festival weekend! In this new facility, you still enjoy their classic wine tastings but there will be more space, more food options and cocktails, and an exciting, brand-new atmosphere! We spoke to Kimberly Bullard of Legacy Nine Realty who is a long-time Adirondack Winery fan. She has watched the winery grow from the very beginning and when asked about the new building she said “I’m so excited about the new event space, it is going to be so nice to have somewhere like that in the area where you can have bachelorette parties, baby showers, or team bonding.”

Go for a Boat Ride

Love is on Lake George Cruises offers custom, private cruises that will give you an amazing view of the lake! Their standard cruises can accommodate up to eight passengers and they will pick you up and drop you off at various locations around the lake! Click here to book your cruise!

Family Fun

If you’re coming to the festival with your kids (the fest is completely family-friendly by the way) then be sure to check out The Fun Spot. This classic Lake George Spot has roller-skating, go-carting, mini-golfing, laser tag, and more! There will be something everyone in the family can enjoy. If your family loves bowling, you should also check out Kingpin’s Alley in South Glens Falls!

After tiring the kids out at The Fun Spot and Kingpin’s Alley, enjoy a meal at Adirondack Brewery. The whole family can enjoy their delicious American cuisine and you can relax with a nice cold Adirondack brewed beer.

There’s Always Something To Do

No matter what, there’s always something going on in Lake George! Kimberly from Legacy Nine Realty is an expert on things to do in the area and also recommends going parasailing on Lake George or taking a flight with Leaf Air while you’re in town.

Be sure to check out a local events calendar to see what other local businesses have events going on while you’re in town. We recommend checking out our Official Digital Marketing Provider, LakeGeorge.com, the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce website, or the events calendar on The Post Star’s website. You can also check out the Plan Your Visit page right on our website to learn about more amazing Lake George attractions like American Oak Distillery, the Adirondacks Welcome Center, and Rural Soul Music Studio!

We can’t wait to see you all when you come to town for the Adirondack Wine & Food Festival, and we hope you’ll make the most of what Lake George has to offer while you’re here!
