The Adirondack Wine and Food Festival is proud to offer ticket protection through Protecht’s service, FanShield. Ticket Buyers can elect to purchase FanShield at the point of sale for the the 2022 Adirondack Wine and Food Festival, scheduled to take place on June 25 & 26, 2022.
Ticket protection insures entry fees and ancillary purchases and must be purchased during the event registration process. Upon purchase, participants will receive confirmation emails separately from the Festival and FanShield. The email from FanShield will confirm the ticket protection purchase and include the policy number needed in the event of filing a claim.

WHAT IS FANSHIELD?

FanShield is providing ticket protection for your Adirondack Wine and Food Festival ticket(s), at a small premium (just $3 – $7 depending on ticket price).  If you are unable to attend due to any of the covered reasons, you have the option to file a claim with FanShield for reimbursement.

HOW DO I ADD FANSHIELD PROTECTION TO MY TICKETS?
You can easily add FanShield protection to your tickets during the checkout process, directly through our embedded widget.

I ACCIDENTALLY PURCHASED FANSHIELD TICKET PROTECTION. AM I ABLE TO CANCEL IT?
Yes!  The link located at the bottom of the FanShield confirmation email allows the policy to be canceled up to 72 hours after purchase for domestic policies or 15 days after purchase for international policies.

HOW DO I FILE A CLAIM?
We recommend filing a claim using the button at the bottom of your FanShield confirmation email. Alternatively, you can simply navigate here to file a claim.

HOW LONG IS THE CLAIMS PROCESS?
The claims process could take as little as one day if filed promptly and correctly. Typically, though, a claim cycle is completed within two business days from submission. Please note that the timing does vary depending on the customer’s response time to communications sent from the claims team.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO FILE A CLAIM?
A FanShield policyholder has up to 30 days* from the date of the event to file a claim.  *Special cases may vary.

COVID-19 PANDEMIC FAQ’S

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE CONTRACTED CORONAVIRUS?
Any serious Injury or any unforeseen serious Illness occurring to a Ticketholder or Family is covered. In the case of such illness, the Ticketholder or Family Member must be examined by a Physician and provide written documentation that the Physician advises the Ticketholder not to attend the Event.  Due to FanShield’s Epidemic and Pandemic General Exclusion Policy, coverage is not provided if you voluntarily share an epidemic or pandemic-related illness in your claim, but a Physician’s note of unspecified/general illness will be covered.

WHAT IF THE EVENT IS CANCELED?
Coverage is not provided in the case of a canceled event as outlined in the coverage Terms & Conditions.

WHAT IF THE EVENT IS POSTPONED TO A LATER DATE?
If the event is postponed to a future date, your coverage will continue through to the event’s rescheduled date. As FanShield is notified of event postponements, they will proactively reach out to provide clarity as early as possible.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DECIDE NOT TO ATTEND THE EVENT DUE TO FEAR OF CONTRACTING CORONAVIRUS?
Coverage is not provided if you voluntarily decide not to attend the event.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM NOT ABLE TO ATTEND THE EVENT DUE TO A DELAY OR CANCELLATION OF A FLIGHT OR OTHER FORM OF COMMON CARRIER TRANSPORTATION?
For protection policies purchased on or after March 11, 2020, coverage is not provided if the Common Carrier transportation delay or cancellation is directly or indirectly the result of Coronavirus.

WHAT DOES FANSHIELD TICKET PROTECTION COVER?

Conditions apply; please see NY Terms for a complete list of coverage.

  1. Any serious Injury or any unforeseen serious Illness occurring to a Ticketholder or Family  ***In the case of such illness, the Ticketholder must be examined by a Physician, who must advise the Ticketholder in writing not to attend the Event.  Documentation of such examination must be presented in a claim.
  2. Any serious Injury or any unforeseen serious Illness occurring to Ticketholder’s Family Member which requires Ticketholder to provide primary care to that person
  3. Any serious Injury or any unforeseen serious Illness occurring to Ticketholder’s Family Member that is considered life threatening or requiring hospitalization
  4. Ticketholder’s death prior to the Event
  5. Death of Ticketholder’s Family Member within 30 days prior to the Event.
  6. Ticketholder is directly involved in a traffic Accident on the day of the Event
  7. Mechanical Breakdown of Ticketholder’s vehicle within 48 hours of the Event
  8. Ticketholder on Active Military Duty
  9. Ticketholder not arriving at the venue due to a delay by the Common Carrier used for transportation
  10. Severe weather conditions which result in the Ticketholder’s inability to attend the Event.
  11. Fire, burglary, vandalism or Natural Disaster which causes Ticketholder’s home to be uninhabitable
  12. Fire, burglary, vandalism, flood, or Natural Disaster which causes Ticketholder’s place of work to be unsuitable for normal business practice
  13. Attendee, who purchases coverage when unknowingly pregnant at that time, or has become pregnant after registration & coverage purchase if one’s physician advises them not to participate in the event.
  14. Ticketholder is required to travel for work-related purposes
  15. Ticketholder or their Spouse is laid off or terminated
  16. Ticketholder’s or their Spouse’s job is relocated 100 miles or more from primary residence
  17. Ticketholder is requested for jury duty, subpoena, or court

BENEFITS PAYABLE:

You will be payed the Ticket Cost of a nonrefundable, unused Ticket, less any Refunds, in the event the Ticketholder is unable to attend an Event due to one or more of the Covered Reasons listed above. A ticket is deemed used once the Ticketholder attends any part of the Event. 

GENERAL EXCLUSIONS

No coverage is provided for any loss arising directly or indirectly out of or as a result of the following:

  1. Alcohol or substance abuse; or conditions or physical complications related thereto of a Ticketholder or a Ticketholder’s Family Member;
  2. War (whether declared or undeclared), acts of war, military duty (unless specifically covered), civil disorder, or civil unrest;
  3. Nuclear reaction, radiation or radioactive contamination;
  4. Terrorism;
  5. Financial Default;
  6. Epidemic or Pandemic;
  7. Pollution or threat of pollutant release;
  8. Any unlawful acts committed by a Ticketholder or Family Members, whether they are insured or not;
  9. The Event being canceled by the venue or promoter for any reason (including bad weather), unless covered herein;
  10. Prohibition or regulation by any government;
  11. Lost or stolen Tickets;
  12. Dental treatment, except as a result of an Injury to sound natural teeth;
  13. Participation as a professional athlete;
  14. Participation in any military maneuver or training exercise, police service, or any loss while the Ticketholder is in the service of the armed forces of any country;
  15. Participation in non-professional, organized amateur or interscholastic athletics or sports competitions or events;
  16. Accidental Injury or sickness when traveling against the advice of a Physician;
  17. Participation in civil disorder, riot or a felony; or
  18. Any expected or foreseeable events.

This plan does not cover You:

  1. If You give incorrect data or facts; or
  2. If a Proof of Loss is not submitted to Us or our designated Representative within 90 days from the date the Covered Reason first begins, except as specified in the Proof of Loss provision.
